Shadows in the Cotswolds by Rebecca Tope
Thea is a house-sitter. If you go on holidays, ask her to look after your property.
But from what I understand, everytime she appears in one of the lovely villages in the Cotswolds, murders happen immediately.
And this is the case! Her mother who has recently met one of her former boyfriends, Fraser, finds her a housesitting in the house of his brother Oliver. She only has to feed his birds, as he loves those free birds, and spends most of his time observing them.
They hardly meet and the following morning, she finds the body of a young woman, killed in the field near the house. Who is she? She had come to the house, pretending she was Fraser's daughter, but Fraser doesn't recognise her when confronted to the corpse.
Her mother and Fraser come to live with her for a few days, as well as Fraser's daughter Mo, and her boyfriend Jason.
Who are the Hardys, a young couple with a lovely dog?
And Priscilla? Where's Jason? And what is Oliver doing in London?
Is Fraser who he pretends to be?
Thea and her friend Gladwin, a policewoman, will solve the problem.
