The Fourth Estate by Jeffrey Archer.

Violence and passion, but nothing romantic in this book! The human relationships are reduced to the minimum!

All that interests the two main protagonists is their leadership in the medias.

The parallel stories of a man born in poverty in Poland, but extremely gifted for languages and trade. When the nazis invaded his country, he flew and found himself in Britain, made his way through the British army, started a career in publishing in Berlin before coming back to London and becoming the biggest editor in Britain. He changed his name several times, and in the book, became Richard Armstrong, but we have already recognized Robert Maxwell.

The other one was born in Australia, from a rich family already owning a newspaper. After Oxford, and the death of his father, he comes back to his country and starts to buy other papers and a radio.

This time, the author kept the christian name of Rupert Murdoch, as he called him Keith Townsend.

The competition between the two was ferocious And the book can be read like a thriller...
